Recently I got to hang out with Frances a beautfiful little girl. This had to have been one of my favorite baby shoots. She was so layed back!
Nate&Kellie

Kellie and Nate tied the note on May 30th, surrounded by a small group of family. I love outdoor weddings – mostly because it’s easier for me
It was a beautiful ceremony, and I enjoyed spending some time alone with the couple getting these wonderful snap shots. You can always add in extra time before or after the ceremony for you two to spend a little time alone. Goodness knows it might be the only time you get to actually talk to each other all day.
Trash-the-Dress
•March 23, 2009 • Comments OffToday to had a trash-the-dress sitting, except the wedding hasn’t happened yet so we took great care to not actually trash the dress. These sittings are my favorite, it allows my imagination to really take off. I love finding a small field with random things scattered around, perfect props.
I have a bridal expo coming up on April 5th at Backroads Rest which is why Kellie was nice enough to model for this shoot. It should be a really good time, so everyone should come, to see me of course, but also to enjoy the general funniess of the event.
My wedding photos!
•February 19, 2009 • Leave a CommentSo, for a change I have started retouching my own wedding photos, yay. It’s fun when their your own pictures, but it’s not as much fun when you know you’re not getting paid for it. Oh well. I’ve started going crazy with the actions lately; I made a bunch of cross process actions and sepia tones. I’m thinking of maybe selling them as a set but I’m quite there yet.
Oh, in other news I’m revamping my Design Blog, so you can see all the wonderful new photo card designs I’ve been working hard on www.bethanygdesign.wordpress.com (It’s not there yet, it looks pretty sad at the moment, give me a few days). I love finding textures around the house, scanning them into the computer and finding ways to incorporate them into a design, it’s a very different look.
Anyway, it’s going to be a while until I get to write again so enjoy the beautiful photos of me and my drop-dead-handsome husband and I will catch you all later.

NEW printing options NEW
•February 5, 2009 • Leave a CommentWell, I finally decided to try my hand at printing. For both portrait and wedding sessions. I am really excited to see how it goes, I offer proofbooks with all my sessions that give you a chance to see all pictures but I have never tried taking actually enlargement orders before. So this will be an interesting experiment. The turn around time should be pretty quite for most of the year (except Christmas time, but everything slows down around christmas) It will take probably a week and a half at most between the time a client places an order and the time they recieve it. Soon I would like to get that turn around time to under a week, but we’ll take baby steps for now.
I know the prints themselves are going to be beautiful, I have been experimenting with personal stuff for a while, I have every confidence that you will be blown away by the color and clarity, even in the enlargements. Oh, I am getting even more excited!
I will also offer custom cards too, you can see examples of a few of my designs at www.bethanygdesign.wordpress.com. the site is still under construction for the most part but you can at least get a feel for what is to come.
FYI. My computer of course is choosing this moment to start acting like a stubborn two-year-old, so it might take a little while to get all of the pricing uploaded, please be patient, it will happen. In the mean time, if you have any questions don’t hesitate to contact me 763-258-3863 or beth@bethanygphotography.com

National Republican Convention
•November 14, 2008 • Leave a CommentI spent the last couple days of the RNC walking around downtown St. Paul. It wasn’t quite the mass pandimonium that the news made it seem to be, but I got a couple of intense moments. It was pretty cool to see the protest, whether or not I agreed with what they were protesting is irrelevant. Seeing people publicly voice thier opinon should make you proud to be amarican whether or not you agree with the opionon thier voicing. Also I have a whole new respect for the hundrads of law-enforcement officers who who put thier butt on the line to keep everyone safe. Often the protestors see them as the enemy but from what I saw it’s quite the opposite.
Northrup Show
•June 6, 2008 • Leave a CommentThe Final End
•May 4, 2008 • 1 CommentI think this week marks the true end to my trip. Which sounds odd since I’ve been back for weeks. But I finally rolled my empty suitcase out of the laundry room and I finally got the voice recordings ready to upload, be sure to look back at past posts to listen to interviews with locals affected by the storm.
Also a couple days ago I got a call from Nora, one of the ladies I interviewed, she called to let me know the house were we met her was knocked down recently, secretly at night. This was the house she talks about in her interviews as a symbol to her of the typical New Orleans. I guess having this house disappear is just one more sign that the old New Orleans is gone.
It’s going to take a lot of time and help to build up the New Orleans. It’s very much in our hands what the New Orleans will be like.

•April 24, 2008 • Leave a CommentHere are images from the shoot on 3.29.08.
We spent the morning touring the swamp and watched the tour guide feed a crocodile marsh-mellows (I have to wonder if that is legal).
The afternoon was spent shooting the tree planting in the St. Roch neighborhood.
this is a slash of pictures from the whole day.

I can’t remember her name but this lady was with a group cleaning up the area, the sidewalk she’s standing on will be used for a national call to artists that will bring in life to the neighborhood.
